Collector.newrelic.com timed out

Had an issue with our server this morning were our iis app pool were failing rapidly. This was the warnings I found in the windows event viewer. Warning was thrown for almost all our app pools for approximately 45min

"A process serving application pool ‘AppPool’ failed to respond to a ping. The process id was ‘1000’.

Just prior to these warning being repeatedly thrown the event logs show another error:

“Name resolution for the name collector.newrelic.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.”

Is it possible these warnings were related? Anyone know if anything was going on with newrelic at the time?

We ran into DNS resolution issues for the collectors early this morning, however they have been resolved since.
