Feature Idea: A way to simulate a user hitting the enter key

I want to test search functionality and there is no “submit” button.

I understand there is a .submit() method, but I am not using a form. I found a selenium method called .keyPressNative() but it doesn’t seem to be supported.

Would appreciate it greatly if someone could point me in the right direction.

How to send "ctrl + a" key in the script
How to send "ctrl + a" key in the script

hi @lefurjah,

currently we cannot simulate the user hitting specific keys. However I will lodge a feature request on your behalf so that this idea can be considered by our product management team.

I would love to hear if anyone in the community has found a way around this.

@tdoherty: Thanks for that. I appreciate it.

Hi @lefurjah,

I assume you have an “input box” (i.e. an input tag).
When you use sendKeys() to type into that box, try to append \n: ChromeDriver should interpret it as typing ENTER on the keyboard.

Let me know.
Otherwise we can find some other way.

Is there a command one can pass to mimic “select all” step in the scripting.
I tried various options like send keys ("\a") , send keys (“ctrl+a”) but none worked out. Looks like the options available in selenium don’t work in relic scripting
Also found out that new relic doesn’t have any support on this.

Any update on this or workaround for this issue?
