Feature Idea: Custom Instrumentation URI Attribute

This might be a feature request forgive me if it is :grinning:

On the Custom Instrementation documentation it says that the URL can be set using the following code:
var uri = new Uri(“http://www.mydomain.com/path”);
NewRelic.Api.Agent.NewRelic.SetTransactionUri(uri);

Is it possible to set the TransactionUri with an Attribute? The methods in question have the WebInvoke(UriTemplate = “url/to/something”, Method = “GET”)]) attribute set on the interface. With that they URI is not in New Relic as transactions.

We take feature ideas seriously and our product managers review every one when plotting their roadmaps. However, there is no guarantee this feature will be implemented. This post ensures the idea is put on the table and discussed though. So please vote and share your extra details with our team.

Hi @rboe

Unfortunately not. Currently the only method attributes available via the .NET Agent API are Transaction and Trace. I’ll be happy to put in a feature request to have that added in a future version.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Don

Thank you Don. I think that would be a great feature to add.

Hi everyone,

Just closing loop in this. We implemented and released support for this in May of this year: https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/release-notes/agent-release-notes/net-release-notes/net-agent-822160

Thanks,
Anil
