Feature Idea: How to check wifi signal strength in New Relic

###Mobile Question

We are working on a mobile POC in iOS app.We are trying to measure the carrier signal strength for a particular time (1/2/3 bar) but we don’t see any option to do that. Could you please help us?

We take feature ideas seriously and our product managers review every one when plotting their roadmaps. However, there is no guarantee this feature will be implemented. This post ensures the idea is put on the table and discussed though. So please vote and share your extra details with our team.

Hi @subhajit.ghosh!

The Mobile agents can’t yet automatically track a device’s signal strength, so we’ve made this into feature idea to gauge interest in this functionality.

If you can collect this value manually, it could be recorded as a session attribute which will decorate all events recorded.

That said, per Apple:

There is no supported way to get cellular signal strength.
There is no supported general-purpose way to get Wi-Fi signal strength.

Apple intentionally restricts this functionality and it seems that any apps which utilize some of the possible workarounds to collect this information could be rejected in Apple’s app review process.

Thanks a lot.I got the similar information and drop the idea
