FutureHack Nerdpack Contest - Win an iPad!

rfb

#1

With New Relic One, if you can dream it, you can build it. And if you share it, you could win an iPad!

New Relic One is the industry’s first entity-centric observability platform, and now the platform is programmable. We’re giving you the power to connect observability data (metrics, events, logs, and traces) and business data–delivering visibility tailored to your unique business. You also get all the same tools New Relic engineers already use to build curated views in the New Relic One platform.

  • Want to build a view of your site performance by geography? You can do that.
  • Need a visualization of where you are over-deployed on AWS? You can build that.
  • Looking to see all the processes running on a single host? You can do that too.

We call these custom built applications Nerdpacks, and we want you to show us yours!

Join the FutureHack contest and show us your Nerdpacks! FutureHackLogo-1

Between now and November 15, everyone who builds and shares their New Relic One applications will be entered into our sweepstakes drawing. There are two ways to participate:

  • Phase 1: Hello World! Show us that you’re ready to build your own Nerdpacks. Just post a screenshot of your Hello World! Nerdlet as a reply to this thread. Everything you need to learn about building Nerdlets and getting your own Hello World! Up and running can be found in these workshop materials.
  • Phase 2: Share your Custom Nerdpack! Create a new topic in the Nerdpack category and use the template to share a screengrab and description of what you built. Your Nerdpack will be an inspiration for others!

Prizes

Get your entries into the community by November 15 to be eligible:

  • Everyone who participates will get a FutureHack badge! FutureHackBadge
  • One lucky Explorer in the Phase One crowd will be chosen to win a New Relic branded backpack.
  • Our grand prize winner, chosen randomly from the pool of our Phase Two participants, will win an iPad!

i could not run the following any ideas ???

To verify that you’ve unzipped the NR1 CLI, run this command and see similar output

ls ~/nr1
README.md node_modules package-lock.json bin oclif.manifest.json package.json

#14

if you haven’t cloned the workshop repo already

git clone git@github.com:newrelic/nr1-workshop.git

I am unable to clone this due to access rights issues.Could you find me an alternative mode please ? @Linds

#15

Hi @Vishnu.Atma

Can you share the output that is displayed when you try to clone the workshop repo?

#16

Hi @Vishnu.Atma

Thank you for calling this out. I am in the process of updated the workshop labs and removing these steps. Can you try nr1 --version and confirm you see the version output? If so, you are all set.

@Vishnu.Atma This is an issue with your ssh keys not being added to your GitHub account. You can either generate and/or add your ssh keys to GitHub and clone the repo using SSH, or you can download the repo directly from GitHub by clicking the download button.

#19

Hi jsuis , I have already downloaded the repository .but could suggest me the next steps after that … found it a bit confusing

#20

Once you have the workshop materials downloaded - flow through each lab reviewing the instructions for each -

To get the associated nerdpack running, just CD into the folder & serve as normal.

cd $home/nr1-workshop/lab0
npm install
nr1 nerdpack:serve (NOTE `npm start` will also work here)

Cycle through each lab exercise and let us know if you have any troubles along the way.
