Hi everyone! I’m Holly Ross and I just started my new role at New Relic as the Director of the Online Technical Community (aka, this site). You’ve been building something amazing here in the community, and I am so thrilled to step in and be a part of it.
My job is to ensure that you get what you need from the Online Technical Community so that you can find solutions for your daily work, learn strategies that will help you become indispensable to your organization’s business, and build a professional network that will support you through it all. Being a data nerd can be lonely work, but you’re among friends here.
So much great work has already gone into the community, and I want to thank you for everything you’ve already contributed. I am looking forward to building on this foundation to help you connect even more and to grow the community so that we all have more opportunities and experiences we can learn from.
To get started, we will be conducting a bit of research so that we can learn more about you and the ways you use (and want to use) the Online Technical Community. You’ll be hearing from your trusty Community Moderator Lindsay Culver in the next few weeks with a survey, but feel free to reach out to either of us at any time with your hopes and wishes, annoyances and complaints, or things you like about the Community. We’ve got our listening ears on and are relying on you to tell us what needs to happen next.
As we research, we’ll also be making some small changes to the Community that we think will help you get more out of it. You may see some new categories, or badges, or messaging coming from our team. These little changes should not disrupt the existing workflows you are used to, but we again encourage you to share any thoughts or feelings you have as you run across these changes. Before we do anything, we will make an announcement right here in this new category: Online Technical Community News. This is the place to stay up to date and share your feedback.
In the meantime, I hope I will have the pleasure of interacting with as many of you as possible directly. Keep your eyes peeled for that survey and I will talk to you soon!
