HIPAA BAA with Heroku Add-On Account

Hello, our account is via a Heroku add-on. Is it still possible to execute a BAA with this type of plan? Thanks

Hi @bbergeron

Thanks for reaching out, I hope you are well.

Congrats on your first post in the community, Whoop!

As mentioned the account is a Heroku account and as such our insight into the account is limited. I would suggest reaching out to the Heroku support team for confirmation on the above.

Should you have any additional questions or updates please do reach out.

Hi @dcody , I checked and we are on the Hawke plan with New Relic. Does this qualify us to execute a BAA with New Relic?

Thanks,
Brandon

Hello bbergeron

Thank you for your patience while we looked into this further. As it turns out, HIPAA compliance is only offered to our customers that utilize our Newer Pricing Model. You can read more about our user models here: https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/accounts/original-accounts-billing/original-product-based-pricing/overview-pricing-models/#:~:text=each%20pricing%20model%3A-,Our%20usage-based%20pricing,-(see%20docs

That does however mean that HIPAA is not available to Heroku Add-On accounts, as these account subscriptions are leveraging our older pricing model.

If you might be interested in moving away from Heroku, you could feel free to explore the possibility of signing up for New Relic directly: https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/accounts/accounts-billing/account-setup/create-your-new-relic-account/

I certainly hope this helps clarify, but do let us know if you have any further questions or concerns on this. We’ll be happy to help as we are able.

Best,
