How does Browser track data?

faq

#1

Hi,

1 Wondering what is bam.nr-data.net?

2 Why when we call our page, it will call bam.nr-data.net too?

3 If this is legitimate, what’s the logic behind?

Because I saw first it will tunnel to bam.nr-data.net and then it will go to rpm.newrelic.com.
Can you please describe how’s the work flow?

Please advise

Thanks

Hi @yyan, we document this process on our documentation site:

Page load timing process
Instrumentation for page load timing
Security for New Relic Browser

This describes what is added to the page for browser monitoring, the type of data it sends to New Relic, and how security is handled.
