Is http2 supported for nodejs?

For nodejs agent version 5.6.1, it appears that http2 servers are not instrumented. Since converting our app to http2, we don’t see transactions for http2 requests. Is http2 supported? If so, is there additional setup required to get that working?

We take feature ideas seriously and our product managers review every one when plotting their roadmaps. However, there is no guarantee this feature will be implemented. This post ensures the idea is put on the table and discussed though. So please vote and share your extra details with our team.

hey @jpage2 !

Looking into this, http2 isn’t a supported module at this time, but I did submit a feature request for you on your behalf which will be reviewed and prioritized.

At this point, you may want to implement custom instrumentation to capture those transactions.

Thanks for submitting the feature request. Is there a way for us to follow/track that feature request?

Hi @jpage2—there is no good way to track feature requests at this time. Sorry if that is disappointing to hear. At this time, I will move this thread into our Feature Ideas category of the community. That way others can vote on seeing this in the future as well!

I am bumping this topic because http2 has become a crucial requirement for scalable applications. It would be great if NR supports instrumenting http2. Are there any updates on this?

Hey @ahmetcan.guven! No news to share on this today. Keep an eye on this thread and know that I have passed your use case along to the Node team.
