Logs UI says "Enable logs" and does not load data

Hello,

I am forwarding logs into newrelic using a lambda that pushed cloudwatch log groups into newrelic. I am able to see the data by manually running a query. My co-workers in the same account are able to see the Logs UI. When I attempt to load the logs UI I see this:

My expectation is to be able to see logs in the Logs UI.

Hi @john25,

Welcome to the Explorers Hub!

Can you confirm the account ID for the account you are expecting to see logs for?

A common cause for seeing this message is due to not having the appropriate roles/permissions assigned to you. See Factors affecting access to features and data for more on this.

Once you confirm the account ID I can look into what Roles and capabilities you have access to.

Thanks!

Hey @john25,

It looks like these logs are being sent and stored using custom Log event types. In order for the Logs UI to populate with your log data, these log messages should be stored in the Log event type.

When viewing the log UI, you can see that the chart is querying data like this:

SELECT count(*) FROM Log SINCE 3 days ago TIMESERIES MAX

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Cheers!
