.NET APM agent not running after installation


On several different IIS servers, the Infra agent was successfully installed and, pushing metrics to the NR dashboard however, when installing the .NET APM agent, there’s no log file created on one server and the other server has a log file generated however, no metrics are getting pushed to the NR dashboard.

Error message:
Unable to connect to the New Relic service at : System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server —> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond


Hey @barry_smith - I’ve seen this before where there was a corrupt install of the agent. OR - the agent version was old and clashing with some other newer packages.

Could you wipe your .net agent install and try out the latest version?


I found out from the requester that IIS isn’t being used on the server in question, it’s an SQL server so, my install was in vain. :frowning:


Yikes! Sorry you had to waste your time on that. At least we now know and aren’t digging deeper for a non-existent solution. Thanks for letting me know @barry_smith
