New Relic can’t see logs

i cant see the logs on NR, but everything else seems to be fine

Hi @browndan186

Glen here, Im one of the support engineers. Would it be possible for you to share with us a little more details about this please.

If you could direct me to the type of application you are monitoring, the language you are using etc. Possibly some screen shots so we can understand what you mean by No logs…

sure i set up the logging.yml file properly…when i installed my newrelic infra agent i recalled seeing this message
Preparing to unpack …/newrelic-infra_1.24.3_amd64.deb …

Unpacking newrelic-infra (1.24.3) …

Setting up newrelic-infra (1.24.3) …

Created symlink /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/newrelic-infra.service → /etc/systemd/system/newrelic-infra.service. Failed to fetch http://host/ubunturemote/pool/main/p/postgresql-12/libpq5_12.8-0ubuntu0.20.04.1_amd64.deb 404

Hi @browndan186

Thanks for the reply here with the extra context and links.

I have gone ahead and looped in the Logs Engineering team here to help, note they will reach out via this post with any updates they may have.

Hi browndan186, thanks for writing in.
From the previous posts it appears the infra agent service and/or the logs integration were not fully installed without errors. You’ll want to go back through the install to make sure the agent as well as the infra agent service are fully installed without errors. You can also elect to install the logs integration from the installer or configure it separately later since you have a logging.yml file ready. Once install is done please define a log file location in newrelic-infra.yml and enter your desired settings in both newrelic-infra.yml and logging.yml (note these files live in separate folders).
https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/infrastructure/install-infrastructure-agent/configuration/infrastructure-agent-configuration-settings#logging-variables
https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/infrastructure/install-infrastructure-agent/configuration/configure-infrastructure-agent
When both are running you should see one system process for the agent (newrelic-infra) and another process for logging (td-agent).
With both of those running you can then access the UI and see host metrics as well as logs.
