Per Instance Thresholds to support heterogeneous applications

Though thresholds can be evaluated per instance, they can’t be set per instance, only per application. For heterogeneous applications where different instances have different patterns of operations (eg master instance vs slave instances) this makes it hard to set sensible thresholds without creating a lot of false alerts.

The only workaround is to split the instance types into separate applications which would greatly increase the difficulty in monitoring the whole application.

Hi @james.perrin - the current workaround is to use NRQL alerts. You can then filter on hosts for the metrics you require.

I’ve implemented some polices but as NRQL uses events not the metrics that APM uses I had to modify some of the thresholds to suit.
