Relic Solution: Missing External Service or Database Calls?

As discussed in the “Supported” Technologies and Instrumentation post, supported instrumentation is essentially based on a list of methods known to our developers.

If you’re not seeing specific database or external service calls for a technology that is supported, chances are that the method making that call isn’t instrumented.

If MyAwesomeMethod() makes a call to your database or to an external service, the agent doesn’t have visibility into that method and will not see that call.

By Custom Instrumenting MyAwesomeMethod() the Agent will gain visibility into it, and be able to pick up the external service and database calls made within.
