The Great Vast Wide-Open of Servers

This is not really a technical question but one of curiosity. Would you describe the next five years of Datacenter-Servers to be in decline? And, is the future of Monitor and/or Management left to a services industry to run a subscription-based solution? Do you foresee the day when the collection of data and analytics from the servers to determine performance variables will be done in true real-time without overly taxing the CPU? If someone were to have to use an appliance to measure statistics, how would that work where there are multiple locations? Would an appliance be necessary at each location? I apologize if my questions seem basic, but I have to learn things in very basic way. I studied Medieval History in college, not Engineering! Thanks in advance, RB
