Experimental React Native Support

We are pleased to announce that anyone looking to instrument their React Native applications can now do so with our experimental OSS React Native Module! This module utilizes native New Relic agents to expose the Javascript environment.

What data can I expect to get with this offering?

With this module, you will be able to capture the following data as custom events from your React Native applications:

  • JavaScript errors
  • Interactions and the sequence they were created
  • Pass user information to New Relic to track user sessions

More details on how to collect and send this data to New Relic can be found in the repo README.

What kind of support is available?

This module falls under the New Relic Experimental OSS category. These projects have no ongoing maintenance, development or support. You are encouraged to collaborate with our community via the Explorers Hub. As this is open-sourced, we also welcome contributions from the community.

How do I get started?

The module can be accessed at https://github.com/newrelic-experimental/NewRelicReactNativeModule and includes setup instructions for both Android and iOS. Please note that you will need to install either the Android or XCFramework agent in order to use this module.

Please be sure to share anything you learn or useful instrumentation tips with the community!
