We take feature ideas seriously and our product managers review every one when plotting their roadmaps. However, there is no guarantee this feature will be implemented. This post ensures the idea is put on the table and discussed though. So please vote and share your extra details with our team.

No, admin keys are always associated with individual users.

Ok Thanks @philweber, a scenario where someone is moving out of the team. We may need to revoke the access and generate new keys.

I am expecting something like a service account or a task account in Windows.

Thanks Phil.

You can create an account just for scripting, but it must have an email and password like any other account, and you will need to login as that “user” in order to view the API key.

I also can see the use of having a “service” key which can allow API’s to be used as part of an integration and not be tied to a user. A similar concept already exists for Insights insert and query keys for use in the Insights API.

@RyanVeitch - can we have this topic converted to a feature request or linked to any existing feature requests please?

There’s absolutely some value in having a Service API Key - I’ll get it converted to a feature idea
