Feature idea: Getting application incident error details using the REST API

restapi

#1

I’m trying to figure out how to use the REST API to get the specific errors involved in a particular Incident.

(ie the stuff pictured below)

I found both the /v2/alerts_incidents and /v2/alerts_violations.json calls but I can’t find anything that returns the error details.

Can anyone guide me to the correct documentation and/or examples?

Made a little bit of progress. This NRQL query gives me a list of recent errors.

{
   actor {
      account(id: 1234) {
         nrql(query: "SELECT * FROM TransactionError SINCE 1 WEEK AGO") {
            results
         }
      }
   }
}

Now I just need to know how I can get the detailed error trace info.

Hi, @viastudio: As far as I know, error traces are only available in the UI.

#4

Well that’s a bummer.

Do you know if it’s possible to use the data from the above query to at least generate a link to the incident details?

#5

If it is possible, I don’t know how. Sorry.

#6

@viastudio I got this filed for you as a feature request internally :slight_smile:

#7

Thank you! I’d love to see this added someday.

No worries! We’ll update this thread if we get an update on it :slight_smile:
