Feature idea: Make latest version number available through curl

Currently it’s very difficult to automatically download the lastest agent version from because the version number is included in the name of the files.

I would like to request that a text/plain entry be added to the latest_release folder to make it possible to retrieve the lastest version number through wget or curl.

Content-Type: text/plain

This would be identical in concept to the entry.

If this entry existed it would be possible/easy to execute a command like the following:

export NEW_RELIC_VERSION=$(wget -qO - "${NEW_RELIC_URI}/version-number")
wget -qO - "${NEW_RELIC_URI}/newrelic-netcore20-agent_${NEW_RELIC_VERSION}_amd64.tar.gz" | tar -xvzf -

New Relic Edit

Hi @Ken.Hundley - Thanks for posting your detailed feature idea here! I’ve got this filed internally for you - and I’ve got a feature idea poll added for you too
