How are Top Database Operations Being Measured?

In the databases section underneath monitor for a service, there are default graphs provided like “Top database operations”.
The default for this graph is a one minute interval. How exactly is the time it takes an operation measured for this minute? Is it an average across the minute? Run once at the beginning of the minute? Something entirely different?

Hi, @Thomas.Callaghan: The response time of each query is measured from the application code: start timer, execute query, wait until connection is released, stop timer. The response times are averaged per minute, and the average response time is sent to New Relic. Does that help?

It does help us understand it better but I believe my coworker @Nilesh.Gupta1 has further questions.

We’ll be happy to look into any of these issues once he reaches out :slightly_smiling_face:
