PATCH request for updating NR synthetics monitor, updates slaThreshold (Apdex) to default

Issue: PATCH request for updating NR synthetics monitor, updates slaThreshold (Apdex) attribute to default (i.e. 7.0), though it was not provided in the payload.

Sample curl request:

curl --request PATCH
–url https://synthetics.newrelic.com/synthetics/api/v3/monitors/xxxxxxxx-yyyyyy-zzzzz
–header ‘Content-Type: application/json’
–header ‘x-api-key: NRAA-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx’
–data ‘{ “status” : “DISABLED” }’

Expectation: The monitor gets disabled, however the Apdex should not change.
Actual: The monitor gets disabled, however the Apdex is changed/default to 7.0 (from my already set value)

@pdewan -

Thanks for posting here! That is not expected behaviour, in my tests I have been able to replicate as you describe.

I’m going to get this reported up to the Synthetics development team for you.

Thanks again for letting us know about this :slight_smile:

No problem @pdewan - We’ll try to keep you up to date when we hear news on this being fixed.

@RyanVeitch any updates on the fix for this?

Hi @pdewan I went ahead and checked and there’s no update at this time. The issue is still currently open and in the teams backlog.
