Unable to add MSSQL on host integration to infrastructure agent

New Relic Infrastructure Question Template

  • Please provide a Permalink so we can see the exact time and place you are:

  • Which version of Windows or which distribution of Linux are you using?
    Windows Server 2016 Datacenter

  • What version of the Infrastructure agent are you using?

  • What is your Infrastructure Subscription level? Essentials or PRO?

  • Describe what you are seeing. How does this differ from what you expected to see?
Installed latest nri-mssql-amd64.msi to setup on-host integration for mssql monitoring. All compatibility and requirements are met and all setup steps completed per setup instructions. mssql-config.yml configured (many various ways) and infrastructure agent restarted.

Below is a version of mssql-config.yml file:
integration_name: com.newrelic.mssql

  • name: SQLDev
    command: all_data
    username: NewRelicUser
    password: NRUserpassword
    port: 1433
    timeout: 0
    env: dev
    role: mssql

Is mssql on host integration still supported for newrelic?

Where/How do I view data collected if not Infrastructure/Third-party services?

Is there something else needing completed to get integration to show up in Infrastructure/Third-party services?

Does this on host integration for MSSQL work on azure IaaS server?

Are there additional firewall port openings required? (the assumption is that the infrastructure agent communicates locally with the ‘1433’ sql port, is that correct?)

Hello @John.Eversole,

You’ll need to update your Infrastructure agent. It is too old to use with the Integration as the SDK version of the MS SQL integration requires a newer version.
